Applications: MOLPOL® PS80 is used in pharmaceutical formulations. It helps mix oil and water, improves the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs and enhances formulation stability. It is used in injectable formulations, vaccines, oral liquids, ophthalmic preparations, topical creams, lotions, emulsions and gels. MOLPOL® PS80 also protects proteins, peptides, vaccines and other biologics from aggregation and adsorption during storage and transport.

1 Description It occurs a clear or almost clear, oily, yellowish or brownish yellow liquid.
2 Solubility It is miscible with water; with ethanol; with ethyl acetate and with methanol; practically insoluble in fixed oils and in liquid paraffin.

(A) Determine by infrared absorption spectrophotometry.
(B) A blue colour is produced.
(C) The bromine is decolourised.
4 Acid value Not more than 2.0.
5 Hydroxyl value 65–80.
6 Saponification value 45–55.
7 Iodine value 18 to 24.
8 Reducing impurities Not more than 5.0 ml of 0.01 M ceric ammonium sulphate is required.
9 Heavy metals Not more than 10 ppm.
10 Sulphated ash Not more than 0.2 %.
11 Water Not more than 3.0.

PACKAGING

MOLPOL® PS80 is packed in HDPE drum or IBC packing having bar-coded label.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Store in an airtight container, protected from light.
