Applications: MOLPOL® PEG600 is used in pharmaceutical formulations as a solvent, co-solvent, humectant and ointment base. It is widely used in tablets, capsules, oral liquids, topical creams, ointments, gels, suppositories and injectable formulations. It enhances the solubility of poorly water-soluble active ingredients, improving drug dissolution and bioavailability. PEG retains moisture in topical creams, ointments and gels while adjusting viscosity and providing a smooth, stable formulation.

1 Description It occurs as clear to slightly hazy, colourless or practically colourless, slightly hygroscopic, viscous liquids.
2 Solubility It is miscible with water. Soluble in acetone, in alcohol, in chloroform, in ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, in ethyl acetate, and in toluene; Insoluble in ether and in hexane.
3 Residue On Ignition Not more than 0.1%.
4 Limit of free ethylene oxide and 1,4-Dioxane NMT 10 μg/g of ethylene oxide and NMT 10 μg/g of 1,4-dioxane.
5 Limit of Ethylene Glycol and Diethylene Glycol The absorbance of the sample solution does not exceed that of the Standard solution, corresponding to not more than 0.25% of combined ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol.
6 pH 4.5 – 7.5
7 Completeness And Color of Solution It is clear for liquid grades and not more than slightly hazy for solid grades.

PACKAGING

MOLPOL® PEG600 is packed in HDPE drum or IBC packing having bar-coded label.
